6 Day Marrakech Desert Tour to the Sahara

Depart in the morning by 4x4 from Marrakech to Ouarzazate along a spectacular road crossing the High Atlas Mountains and the Tizi-N-Tichka Pass at 2,260 metres. Continue to the Kasbah of Telouet, the ancestral residence of Pacha Glaoui.

Visit the kasbah, then continue through the Oumila Valley to reach the famous Kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou for lunch and a visit.

In the afternoon, continue by 4x4 to Ouarzazate, dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Depart in the morning by 4x4 towards the Dades and Todra Gorges, passing through the Skoura Oasis.

Take an off-road track to get closer to the palm grove and its traditional kasbahs. Continue by road towards El Kelaa M'Gouna.

Then follow a track through the entire Rose Valley, also known as the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, before reaching the Dades Gorges. Lunch in the gorges.

In the afternoon, continue by road to the Todra Gorges, dinner and overnight at the gorges in a hotel or guesthouse.

An early departure is recommended to follow the longest road section of the week, passing through Tazarine and then N'Kob, a small Berber village.

Lunch in Zagora, then continue towards Mhamid with a stop in Tamgroute to visit the Quranic library, discover traditional pottery making and explore its underground lanes.

Continue to Mhamid and head to the desert bivouac. Dinner and overnight in a traditional desert tent.

After breakfast, enjoy a camel ride of approximately one hour, then depart by 4x4 along a sandy track towards the magnificent Erg Chegaga dunes.

Lunch in the shade of palm trees or tamarisks. In the afternoon, continue along the desert track towards Chegaga.

Arrive at the bivouac in time to enjoy the sunset. Dinner and overnight in a tent or under the stars.

After breakfast, depart for Taliouin along the track between Erg Chegaga and the dry bed of the Draa River, passing by Lake Iriqui.

Continue through Foum Zguid and then follow the road via Taznakht.

Stop at a traditional carpet cooperative to learn more about the different types of carpets produced in the region.

Lunch, transfer to the hotel, dinner and overnight.

In the morning, visit this beautiful Berber village before continuing towards the unforgettable Tizi-n-Tast Pass via Aoulouz.

Lunch will be served in the village of Asni, followed by a continuation through Tahnaout before reaching Marrakech in the late afternoon.
