A 4×4 desert excursion is one of the best ways to discover the remote landscapes of the Moroccan Sahara from Mhamid El Ghizlane.
The journey begins in Mhamid El Ghizlane, the last village before the vast desert landscapes. We follow sandy desert tracks through different landscapes of the Sahara, including Reg, Hamada and sand dunes.
The route continues towards the Great Dunes of Chegaga, located approximately 60 km from Mhamid depending on the route taken. Along the way, the changing desert scenery creates a truly memorable experience.

A complete Sahara experience for discovering the Moroccan desert from Mhamid El Ghizlane.
Mhamid and the First Night in the Desert
Arrive in Mhamid El Ghizlane in the afternoon by your own means and meet at the agreed starting point.
Depending on the chosen option, begin your camel ride across the first sandy landscapes towards the desert camp.
Upon arrival, enjoy a warm welcome and discover the camp. Later, watch the sunset over the dunes before sharing a traditional Moroccan dinner.

Mhamid – Sacred Oasis – Chegaga
After breakfast, return towards Mhamid on foot or by camel, depending on the organization of your excursion.
Then leave Mhamid by 4×4 and follow the sandy desert tracks towards the Great Dunes of Chegaga.
A stop is made near the Sacred Oasis, with the possibility of having lunch in the shade of palm trees or tamarisk trees, depending on the organization.
In the afternoon, continue towards Chegaga. Arrive at the desert camp and settle in before enjoying sunset over the dunes.
