Tour of 4 days from Ouarzazate to desert - south of Morocco
Day 1: Ouarzazate – Dades gorges – Tinghir
Morning departure by 4×4 to the Dades Gorge and Todra, to the oasis of Skoura. Crossing the track to be closer to the palm groves and kasbahs. Continue by road to reach El Kelaa M’Gouna and take the trail that crosses the Valley of Roses (road of the thousand kasbahs) to arrive at the Dades Gorge. Lunch in the gorge. In the afternoon, depart by road to reach the Todra Gorge. Dinner and night in the gorge (hotel or guest house).
An early start is desirable for us to follow the longest section of tarmac of the week through Tazarine then N’Kob (small Berber village). Lunch in Zagora, M’hamid route, stopping in Tamgroute to visit the Koranic library and the manufacture of pottery and the underground streets. Continuing the trail through the grove of Ouled Brahim Reg Elfaija and continuation to M’hamid to get to camp. The evening dinner and overnight in tents.
Day 3: M’hamid – Chegaga
After breakfast, a camel ride (1hour) then start by 4×4 track for the great sandy dunes Chegaga. Lunch under the shade of palm trees and tamarisk. In the afternoon back on the track to Chegaga dunes. Check into the bivouac to enjoy the sunset. Nomad evenng. Dinner and overnight in tents or under the stars.
Day 4: Chegaga – Lake Iriqui – Foum Zguid – Taznakht – Ouarzazate
Departure for the track between the Erg Chegaga dunes and the dry bed of the Draa through Lake Iriqui, then Foum Zguid and continue by road via Taznakht. Plenty of photo stops will be made during the day between Ouarzazate and Taznakht.
