5-Day Morocco Desert Tour from Marrakech to the Sahara

Depart from Marrakech towards Ouarzazate, crossing the Tizi n'Tichka Pass in the High Atlas.

Continue to the Kasbah of Telouet, the ancestral residence of the Pasha Glaoui.

After lunch, continue along the track through traditional ksour and kasbahs to reach the beautiful Ounila Valley.

Follow the track to the Kasbah of Tamdakhte and then to the famous Ait Ben Haddou.

Enjoy a walk and visit the old ksar, which is still inhabited, before continuing to Ouarzazate. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

After breakfast, depart towards the Dades Gorges via the lake, the palm grove and the kasbahs of Skoura.

Continue along a track surrounded by colourful rock formations to reach the village of Bou Thahrar, then join the road towards the Dades Gorges.

Lunch in the Dades Gorges, followed by a scenic drive along the winding mountain road towards the Todra Gorges.

Arrive in Tinghir and settle into your hotel. Dinner and overnight stay in the gorges area.

After breakfast, continue by road towards Tazarine and then N'Kob, a traditional Amazigh village.

Enjoy lunch in Zagora, then continue towards Mhamid with a stop in Tamgroute to visit its traditional pottery workshops.

Continue to Mhamid El Ghizlane, the last palm grove of the Draa Valley and the gateway to the Sahara Desert.

Settle into the desert camp near Mhamid, approximately 5 km from the village, surrounded by the first dunes.

Dinner, an evening accompanied by songs performed by young nomads, and an overnight stay in a comfortable tent.

After breakfast, enjoy an approximately one-hour camel ride.

Then set off by 4x4 along a sandy track towards the great dunes of Chegaga, among the largest dunes in Morocco.

Enjoy lunch at the Sacred Oasis before continuing along the desert track towards Chegaga.

Arrive at the Chegaga desert camp. Climb one of the highest dunes to enjoy the sunset over the Sahara.

Dinner, an evening at the camp and an overnight stay in the desert.

Depart for Marrakech along the desert track between Erg Chegaga and the dry bed of the Draa, passing through Lake Iriqui, a vast area of compacted sand.

Continue to Foum Zguid, where you rejoin the paved road towards Taznakht, a town known for its carpet cooperatives.

Continue towards Marrakech, with several stops along the way between Taznakht and Marrakech.

Arrive in Marrakech and transfer to your hotel.
